This week has been full of video. Each day during practice, I have mic'd up enough people to be able to post my first couple of videos on my Tik Tok page, @micd.up.with.jadyn. I have noticed that trying to video during practice is tougher than I thought it was going to be. When the coaches are needed for drills and Callie isn't at the practices due to her having physical therapy for her shoulder, no one is videoing anything and that seems to be when the funniest things happen. Of course, when we do something funny or do something that would turn into some great footage, no one is videoing. The videos have been pretty successful with views and likes and the page has gained many followers since I first started the account. I ran into a little bit of trouble with the first video I posted, but I fixed it and it is now up to about 175 views and 32 likes. The videos were glitching out, so I had to exclude those videos in the final product. When I try to crop the videos in the photos app and make a separate video out of it, it will start glitching in the parts where I have put the new, cropped video in. I have also realized that it is harder finding time to edit the clips into a video that will be ready to post is harder with games starting to make their way into the softball schedule. But, i'll make it work. The 2nd video that I posted has seemed to be the most popular and it helped my page gain the most followers. I've found that a lot of new accounts have a second video posted that is more popular than the first. Hopefully, the success will continue as I post more mic ups and the first interview video on Thursday before our game against North Davidson!

To kick things off, I am going to give y'all a run down of what's going on. Over the last few weeks, I have been generating ideas to design a genius hour project that would be both beneficial and fun for me . I came up with the idea to interview softball players, coaches, and fans as well as mic up some of these softball players at practices. These interviews and mic ups will be posted on everyone's favorite social media site, Tik Tok and will be reposted by the Davie softball players, coaches, and some of the players parents to try and broadcast my videos to larger audiences. The videos for mic ups will be taken by Callie Jenkins, since she is injured and is out for the season but will still be attending practices and games, or will be taken by the assistant coaches that are at practice the day we choose to mic people up. Videos for interviews will be taken by me, if I choose to let someone else on the team to interview people, or another player while I interview people. I will be posting my first video tomorrow, 2/23/24. I hope to gain followers, likes, and views over the course of this project. A lot of the videos in the beginning will be mic ups since the season is just beginning and we don't have any upcoming games, yet. Towards the middle and end of the season, a lot of the videos will be interviews because we will begin to have around 3-4 games per week and it will be hard to include mic ups in practices after a bunch of games. The videos will hopefully be posted the day that the footage was taken, but the footage will be made into a video by the following week at the absolute latest. Go follow the account, @micd.up.with.jadyn, and stay tuned for the mic ups and interviews. |
